Woo Myung's Life
Woo Myung was born in 1952 in South Korea.
He came to have many questions about life's origins after his father passed away at the age of 9.
In 1996, while running a successful preparatory academy, Woo Myung achieved complete enlightenment of Truth through meditation.
Since then, he created the 7-step meditation method, authored 12 books, and has been teaching Truth for over 26 years.
Today, there are more than 300 meditation centers in over 40 countries, with hundreds of thousands of practitioners of the 7-step meditation method.
Woo Myung's Philosophy
“Simply living out one's lifetime cannot be all there is. Why is it that everyone lives then dies so meaninglessly?”
“A constant riddle in my mind was the fact that we had to die after living this way – as well as where we come from, why we live and where we go after we die. I also pondered why we all come into the world but only some people become saints, while others such as myself are just ordinary people.”
Woo Myung believes that true happiness could only be found when one knows where he comes from, where he returns, and the reason he was born.
“In order to teach the people of the world, there needed to be a method, and so I thought from their perspective. After studying on this twenty-four hours a day, three hundred and sixty-five days a year, I was enlightened of the method with which I could teach people.”
Woo Myung is known for being a spiritual leader who works harder and endeavors more than the students who come to learn from him. Perhaps this is because he knows better than anyone the reason people are born and given precious life, and why we must not fail to become Truth. For him, the moment when all people in the world become Truth cannot come soon enough and he makes full use of each moment of every day to this end.
